General Information

building blocksCygnets of Bawtry's Day Nursery is managed by Mrs Julia Crawford Leek. She is a fully qualified nursery nurse with many years experience of working with children in family and pre-school settings. She employs a friendly, experienced team of staff who provide a caring, safe environment in which children can learn, play and develop.

We are registered with Ofsted who have registered the Nursery to care for babies and children from three months to eight years of age. We also provide funded 3 and 4 year old places, please ask for further information.

All precautions have been taken to ensure a safe and secure environment at all times.

Our Nursery policies are written and are on display at all times and you are invited to read them. They are to ensure a smooth running, well-organised Nursery for everyone involved.

Holidays

Providing your child has attended for a period of 6 months, and a holiday form is completed giving 1 month's notice, each child is entitled to 2 weeks half holiday fees for each year. Any subsequent holidays will be charged at the full rate, including bank holidays.

Illness

If your child becomes unwell at Nursery parents/guardians will be required to collect them immediately. Children who are clearly unwell should not be in Nursery. If their child is unwell or suffering from an infectious illness parents/guardians are requested to inform Nursery at their earliest convenience. If a child has had sickness or diarrhoea they may not return to Nursery until a full 48 hours clearance of either symptoms.

Medication

Medication will only be given to a child when prescribed by a GP, and when written parental consent has been obtained. Any child taking antibiotics must have had them administered for a full 48 hours period before returning to Nursery.

Registration

We request a non-refundable registration fee of £25 to be returned with your registration forms. This will secure the offer of a place at the setting. Registration fees are deducted from the first monthly bill.

Changes to attendance

Children may only attend at the times stated on their booking form. If you wish to increase your child's sessions this will be arranged for you as soon as a vacancy arises. Should you wish to decrease your child's sessions, one month's notice is required in writing to the Nursery.

Meals

The Nursery provides a healthy menu inspired by parents with locally sourced vegetables and fruit.

cuddly toy rabbitThe Nursery is open Monday to Friday between 8.00am and 6.00pm. The Nursery will be open throughout the year, excluding bank holidays and one week for Christmas.

Please bring (labelled with your child's name): A complete change of clothing; indoor shoes or slippers; and any 'comfort' items. Please do not hesitate to inform us of any special requirements. We do aim to make the settling-in period as happy and easy as possible for you and your child.

We offer a Nursery collection service from Bawtry Mayflower school. Cygnets Day Nursery also runs and Out-of-School Club on the premises of Bawtry Mayflower School.
